Maestro Technologies served as the General Contractor for the MAE Museum in Fiorenzuola d’Arda, a project dedicated to the history and future of carbon fiber. Designed by CRA-Carlo Ratti Associati and the late Italo Rota, the museum reimagines an industrial archive not as a static repository, but as a “living” 3D matrix. Maestro was responsible for the technical design and construction of the museum’s complex internal structures, specifically the metal shelving systems that form the project’s core visual identity.
To transform the architectural concept of an “interactive archive” into reality, Maestro utilized the Maestro Method, employing digital twins to guide the construction process. The centerpiece of the museum—a vast landscape of metal shelving holding historical documents—required high-precision manufacturing to ensure perfect alignment for the digital projection overlays. By simulating the assembly in a digital environment first, Maestro coordinated the fabrication of the custom metal components, ensuring that the physical infrastructure could seamlessly support the immersive multimedia experience.
Located in the heart of Italy’s “Motor Valley,” the project stands as a testament to the intersection of industrial heritage and modern manufacturing. By bridging the gap between design and construction software, Maestro positioned the museum itself as a testing ground for new building techniques.
